Ministerial Dialogue outcomes

Part of the Climate Adaptation Summit was GCA’s inaugural annual Ministerial Dialogue on Adaptation Action, which is to serve as an annual platform and action-driving vehicle.

Ban Ki-moon, 8th UN Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of GCA’s Board, chaired the inaugural GCA Ministerial Dialogue, which had had keynote addresses from US Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, and IMF Managing Director and GCA Board Member Kristalina Georgieva. Ministers from over 50 countries and other high-profile speakers from international organisations joined them.

From different perspectives and regions, together they stated the importance of adaptation action and their contributions. The dialogue showed commitment for action on the ground and the readiness of this ministerial level to guide the Adaptation Action Agenda towards a climate-resilient future.
