The weather is becoming more and more extreme. Everywhere, in every part of the world, people are making heroic efforts to reduce emissions and limit global warming. This is called ‘climate mitigation.’ But... that is not enough. We have no choice but to adapt to the changing climate. NOW.

‘Climate adaptation’ means that we will be less vulnerable to rising sea levels. To floods, extreme heat and food shortages. And certainly also to water shortages, which have devastating consequences for agriculture, nature, and ourselves.

Good news! In fact, we have always been able to adapt. Now we have to speed things up considerably. We need to adapt – now! In this video, you can see many examples of people and countries that are already successfully adapting to climate change.

Can you do something yourself? Yes, definitely! It's quite simple – and cheap. For example, take a tile out of your garden. Or put a rain barrel on your balcony. Every action, no matter how small, helps.

#ClimateAdaptation concerns us all. And we will all benefit from adapting. Learn more from watching this explainer video by @CASsummit2021 and share your own ideas!
